Based in the stunning location of Merewether Beach, and known as “The Greens”, Merewether Carlton Rugby Club has enjoyed plenty of on-field success in the Newcastle competition throughout its history.
And with a passionate and committed group of volunteers, the club has enjoyed a number of off-field successes in recent years, including a huge renovation of their grandstand to add a spectacular clubhouse, and a new digital scoreboard.
In this case study video, we dive into some of the reasons for that off-field success, including:
- Roles and responsibilities within the committee and teams, including how to avoid burnout
- How they engage senior & junior members for a true “one-club” approach, and the benefits from doing so
- Where they find help and resources to improve their sponsorship and administration
- How they use the new facilities that they have developed
In addition to fielding well over 20 teams across junior and senior rugby competitions, the club also conducts a summer touch competition with over 1,500 participants, and a junior activity program for 2-6 years olds called Greenies Grommets.
