Club Operations

Behind every successful club day is strong operational planning. This section helps committees run clubs efficiently — recruiting and retaining players and volunteers, marketing the club well, using technology effectively, and maintaining the facilities members rely on — while ticking off key milestones on the Club Impact Program pathway.

Sub-sections

  • Volunteer Management — Recruitment, onboarding and retention resources to build a sustainable volunteer base. Delivering a volunteer management plan is a Silver-level requirement.
  • Player Recruitment — Strategies and campaign templates to grow playing numbers across all age groups. A recruitment and retention plan, and fielding a Women's or Girls team on Rugby Xplorer, both count toward Silver, while offering Tri Tag Rugby and keeping a coach:player ratio under 1:10 are Gold-level markers.
  • Marketing & Communications — Templates and guidance for promoting the club, match days and events to the local community.
  • Technology & Digital — Guidance on using Rugby Xplorer and other digital tools to run the club efficiently. Registering your committee on Rugby Xplorer is a Bronze requirement, and maintaining a current club website is a Silver requirement.
  • Infrastructure — Facility management, ground maintenance and equipment planning resources to support a growing club.
