Rugby must be as safe, inclusive and fair as possible. Rugby Australia has several policies and initiatives aimed at ensuring that Rugby is safe to play and is enjoyable for all participants.

Risk management success is dependent on a strong safety and prevention culture, fostered by awareness of risk identification policies and procedures to appropriately mitigate, and manage the potential risks that exist to all involved and who participate in the game.

It is important to note that not all risk is transferable to the insurance market through the purchase of an insurance policy, utilising risk management principles and procedures is always recommended as the starting position to ensure that significant risk is appropriately identified and managed by all.
